God Works Wonders

You know it is very interesting how the Lord works in our lives. For those of you that don't know very much about me, I am a working mom, or at least I have been for the past 2 1/2 years. Me and my husband married in 2003 and between us we have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. The youngest we share and then we each brought two into the marriage.

Since Micah was born last year, I have wanted to stay at home, with my two girls they were in school so it didn't bother me so much. But with Micah he was growing up and instead of me being there with my camera I was at work, 45 minutes away. On top of missing my children things at work just haven't been so glorious. I am one of many people that just don't enjoy thier working conditions.

Well, about the beginning of May me and my husband had decided that I would become a stay at home mom. I would save up some more money into the savings account and then I would quit work to be at home with the children. Our goal was for me to be in the home at least by the time school started for the 2004-2005 school year. (For us that would be August 2, 2004)

On May 19th my husband suffered a chemical burn from hydroflouric acid. Throught the last month and a half we have been on an emotional roller coaster. I have been questioning if I should be a stay at home mom. They are plenty of advantages and disadvantages. I truly would have to trust in the Lord. Let's face it, we barely make it with my income. To remove it would take an adjustment. I have been scared to take that step of faith.

Then I got an email from Sandra Gillmore. She asked me to review her book and see if I would be willing to promote it on the website, (Parents For Christ). I emailed her back and said "Sure! I am always interested in parenting books." Mind you I didn't take heed to the title of her book, Mommy, Come Home. I also didn't realize at that point that the Lord was gonna smack me with that loving 2x4.

So I got this book on July 2nd. I sat it on the coffee table after flipping through it a little. Didn't read it really until the night of the 3rd. WOW! For one Sandra has had 10 children and homeschools them. More importantly, God spoke to me through her book. All the confirmation I had been praying and longing for was there. Yes, I do need to be that stay at home mother for my children.

Now more than ever. See, my two girls live with us all the time and see thier father for visitation. My husband's son and daughter don't get to stay with us very often. That is until now. We will be getting custody of them this month. We will have all 5 of our precious angels with us.

If you are a mom, will be a mom, or are planning on being a mom I HIGHLY encourage you to read this book; Mommy, Come Home by Sandra K. Gillmore
