A Jar of Thanks

On Thanksgiving Day, prior to sitting down at the dinner table is the best time to do this. Get a large jar such as a canning jar or even an empty coffee can. I prefer to get a glass jar so you can see the slips of paper. Before hand prepare your paper slips. If you have the time cutting leaves out of construction paper is an added touch to the project.

Give everybody a couple of leaves or slips of paper to write on. Instruct them to write down one item on the paper that they are thankful for. Once everybody has wrote their blessings down, put them in your jar or can.

Every night from Thanksgiving to Christmas, sit down with your family and read one of the slips of paper. Have the entire family reflect on the blessing listed on the paper.
